In the heart of ' Ager Falernus the slopes of Mount Massico , surrounded by vineyards and olive groves , set up to accommodate those who want to spend days and relax in natural surroundings. Our tastefully decorated rooms , guaranteeing maximum comfort .
The human presence in the territory can be traced back to the Middle Paleolithic (75,000 to 35,000 years ago), which date from the artifacts found in the countryside surrounding the town of Falciano. The Ager Falernus area, enclosed by Mount Massico (north, north-west) and from Savone River (south-west) and the slopes of the volcano of Roccamonfina (east) was inhabited by the Ausoni-Aurunci, until the Roman conquest in the fourth century BC The Romanization of the territory was accompanied by the creation of the Via Appia and minor roads, local, whose remains are preserved. Several were the villae of the Roman period built on the hills overlooking the present town. Mostly it was the nuclei around which organized the agricultural activities of a particularly fertile territory, which in ancient times was known mainly for the production of wine Falerno, once praised by Virgil, Horace, Catullus, Cicero and Martial, and exported throughout the Mediterranean.
