The property is located on the first floor of a beautiful 18th century building in the historic center of Campobasso. Its central location makes it unique in its kind with the possibility of strolling through the narrow streets of the centre, in a genuine atmosphere of times gone by. The property is very well cared for, very well stocked with wardrobes, furniture and appliances. It has a very large kitchen-living room with a fireplace made entirely with field stones. It is ideal for families even with young children, but also for single couples and is well suited for organizing small conferences and/or courses, as despite being in the heart of the historic centre, it is very quiet and feels like staying in the countryside. The structure also provides a courtesy set, consisting of soap, shower gel and shampoo and, on request, organic balm and body cream. These products are supplied by the same host who personally produces them in her cosmetic laboratory, l'Olea biocosmesi.
My name is Mariantonietta Di Cienzo and I am the host of the Olea holiday home. I am very happy to be able to host you in my structure. Inside you will find all the comforts of a well-furnished, welcoming and quiet apartment. I am sure your stay will be very pleasant.
The structure is right in the historic center of Campobasso, a few meters from the church of San Leonardo and its square. It is a few steps from the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, the Savoy Theater, the Samnite Museum and the Museum of Mysteries, the Monforte Castle and the Church of San Giorgio. It is surrounded by typical pizzerias such as those of Palazzo which churn out the traditional bread pizza at various times of the day, restaurants where you can taste the typical cuisine of Molise and others where you can only eat fish such as the Podestà, next to the structure, and the Divine Corner in Viale del Castello. During the day you can enjoy the typical atmosphere of the city without any adulteration of its quaint characteristics, as can happen in other tourist destinations....walk through the medieval alleys, characterized by small shops, taste the typical products, visit the shops crafts and many other typical products to discover. At nightfall, the streets of the historic center come alive, giving life to the so-called "Movida Notturna", thus allowing for beautiful evenings and then returning to rest in a quiet and peaceful place. One of the most important festivals in the city is Corpus Domini with the procession of the Mysteries, which are sacred representations, conceived and created in the mid-eighteenth century by the Campobasso sculptor Paolo Saverio Di Zinno. The Mysteries are machines made up of wooden bases on which iron structures are applied where the figures, mostly children, are positioned, representing angels, devils, scenes from the lives of saints and sacred figures of Christianity. These "Ingegni" are carried on the shoulders in procession and the movement of the bearers, making the structures swing, creates the illusory sensation that the children who interpret the sacred figures are flying over the heads of the spectators. Di Zinno built eighteen geniuses but six of these were destroyed in the earthquake of 1805.
