Take a small, quiet village overlooking the Calanchi Valley, where every stone and every house has a story to tell. A community that resists depopulation, keeps its traditions and rhythms of life alive and does not resign itself to being remembered only in some history book. Add to that a breathtaking landscape, with sunsets that color everything around you, every day in a new and unexpected way. This is what the Borgo di San Michele has to offer. It may not sound like much, but perhaps it is all you really need.
La Casetta del Pastine takes its name from the Pastine estate, a 2-hectare plot of land once the Castle's garden, used by the prince and local nobility to spend hot summer days in the shade of centuries-old trees.
The property consists of 2 independent apartments that overlook the Piazza dell'Oca, a small reserved, quiet and comfortable corner. inside both appartments of the house you will have a kitchen, two bathrooms, a bedroom and a large living area with sofa bed and TV and a wonderful view that opens towards the Tiber Valley will cheer your summer evenings on the terrace of the apartment on the second floor or in the garden of the apartment on the ground floor.
The small town of San Michele offers a few but essential services that will brighten your stay and Loredana's Bakery, hidden behind a small wooden door with no sign or indication whatsoever, offers every day excellent fresh bread, pizza, cookies and exceptional tarts.
Driving a few kilometers, you will have the opportunity to visit some of the best-known tourist destinations in Tuscia. First and foremost is Civita di Bagnoregio, the dying city. Then the Park of the Monsters of Bomarzo, the naturalistic Oasis of Alviano, the Village of Fairy Tales of Sant' Angelo and the Ghost Village of Celleno.
Then, if at the end of your excursions you feel like tasting the typical products of our area, you cannot miss the specialties of the restaurant La Quercia, about two kilometers from San Michele, which in addition to excellent cuisine can offer you a unique view of the Calanchi Valley.
