THE SPACE: Suite 18 is a stylish and light-filled apartment overlooking the historic harbour of Ortigia. Located on the first floor of a 19th-century building (with elevator), the apartment measures approximately 80 m² and offers the comfort of a well-equipped home with the ambience of a boutique hotel. GROUND FLOOR The front door takes you into an open-plan space with a well-equipped kitchen and a dining area; right next to it, you enter the beautiful living area, always flooded with light, with a vaulted ceiling. A comfortable and large sofa, two armchairs and a large flat screen TV make this room ideal for relaxing and reading; you’ll find a selection of books in Italian, English and German. From the balcony, furnished with a table with two chairs, you can follow the coming and going of the boats in the port and enjoy the Sicilian sun with its spectacular sunsets. Next to the balcony, an extendable round table will be the perfect place for your morning coffee, sunset aperitifs and romantic dinners. An elegant bathroom with a large shower completes the living area. MEZZANINE On the mezzanine floor, the master bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with a large shower and a comfortable wardrobe. When you arrive, I will welcome you and show you around the house. I will also be available during your stay to assist with anything you need. I have a deep love for my city and enjoy sharing my knowledge with friends and guests. In the apartment, you will find books and guides about Syracuse and the surrounding areas. If you want to experience life like a local, I would be happy to recommend places to see, activities to do, and restaurants to try! THE SURROUNDING AREA: “Suite 18” has shopping, art and culture within short walking distance. The apartment is located in one of the most interesting areas of the island of Ortigia, just a few minutes’ walk from Piazza Duomo, the Temple of Apollo, the Aretusa Fountain and a myriad of charming streets with baroque palaces, shops, restaurants and bars. Are you a SEA LOVER? Less than 5 minutes on foot, a beautiful solarium will allow you to swim and sunbathe in one of the most enchanting corners of Ortigia (Zefiro Solarium LoungeBar). A delightful little beach, Calarossa Beach, is about 15 minutes away on foot, or you can reach it by bus, which runs every 10 minutes around the island (bus 110). If you love SICILIAN CUISINE,, the area offers a great variety of restaurants and beautiful cafés and, if you like to live like a local, you can shop at the nearby daily market, where it is possible to buy and taste fresh fruit, vegetables, fish and other typical products and experience a unique folkloristic atmosphere. DAY TRIPS: Suite18 is conveniently located about 10 minutes by car from the A18 highway, making it an ideal starting point for day trips: Noto (30 minutes), Marzamemi (45 minutes), Vendicari Nature Reserve (40 minutes), Palazzolo (25 minutes), Ragusa, Modica, and Scicli (approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes). If you’re a fan of beaches, within 20 minutes by car, you can reach some of the most beautiful seaside areas in Syracuse (such as Terrauzza, Fontane Bianche, and Arenella). Should you prefer less touristy beaches, I'll be happy to recommend my favourite spots. “Suite 18” is about 10 minutes drive from the highway A18 and is the perfect starting point for day trips to Noto ( 30mins ), Marzamemi ( 40mins), Vendicari nature reserve (30mins) and Ragusa , Modica , Scicli (about 2h ). Why Suite 18? Because you deserve to wake up by the sea, sip wine on your balcony, and relax to the sound of boats in Ortigia’s timeless harbour:) !
