I love to go hiking straight from the house into the woods, there are a wide variety of birds and long walks suitable also for mountain bikes and horse riding

The Country Houses are a part of the countryside located near the small village of Poreta and also are part of Villa della Genga's estate. This prestigious estate, located in Spoleto Poreta, belongs to the heirs of the family della Genga until the XV century. In 1673 the villa was built in a setting of rare beauty and evocative stillness: it was the favorite hunting house of Cardinal Annibale della Genga, who, in 1823, was elected Pope taking the name of Leo XII. These houses share a large and unique infinity pool. This pool remembers a water tank that was used in the past as a storage for dry seasons. The view from each windows is spectacular especially at sunset with the view over the valley.

The wonder of St. Francis lies in the beauty of his "Spoleto Valley", as it was called the Umbrian Valley and it still amazes current travellers the way it did then. The landscape which overlooks the valley is an alternating series of small villages rich in history and beautiful Franciscan landscapes. Our lands, Poreta's lands, embrace every aspect of this landscape. Located in a privileged part of Poreta visitors are offered easy access to major tourist destinations of the area such as Spoleto, Trevi, Assisi, Bevagna, Perugia, Valnerina and the entire mountainous Terminillo park.
