Villa Orio is a classic Roman type of Villa offering a stunning view of lake Piediluco and the charming old village bearing the same name. Though unknown to many, the lake is Umbria’s second largest lake and honored as “Italy's most beautiful lake” (read more about surroundings). The Villa offers two floors, 3 terraces, chill out garten with direct wiew to the lake and Piediluco Village. Most materials used to build the villa comes from the the local mountains, such as white sandstone for the front facade, arches and from the forres - oak tree windows and shutters facing the lake and village.
First floor:
On First floor you will find a spacious kitchen in original old class Umbrian style, but with all neccesary modern kitchen appliances and facilities. The kicthen leads to an open lovely terrace where you can enjoy your breakfast and lunch and our 100m2 spacious living room in palazzo style, with a 3,5 m ceiling, marble fireplace and old style Italian furniture.
Second floor:
On the second floor you will find 3 nice separate bedrooms, two primary bed rooms with king sized beds and direct access to a huge balcony overlooking Piediluco and the surrounding mountains and a smaller bedroom with two singlebeds. On second floor we have two toilets and one bathroom with a combined bathtub and stand-in shower.
Villa Orio is an old dream that came through for us, when we took over the Villa is 2021 and now can share with others. If you like us, often are a little stressed working too much, living in a big city, or simply admire beauty and respect nature and time. you have come to the right place. Villa Orio has a timeless touch to it. We have only modified the villa and gardens in full respect to the original design and ideas but added comfort and functionalities of modern times. When you rent the Villa, it is exclusively for your group, and we want you to have that sensation.

Located on the south-eastern reaches of Umbria, just 1,5 hour’s drive from Rome, you find the hidden gem “Lake Piediluco” - the second largest natural lake basin in Umbria and in Italy known as no. 1 or 2 of Italy’s most beautiful lakes. The lake of represents one of the remains of the ancient Roman lake “Lacus Velinus" and waterways formed by the Romans which also includes Europe highest waterfall “Cascata Mamore” with a free fall of 165 meters, which can be reached only 5 km from our Villa. The waterfall is the oldest ever man-shaped waterfall in the world, engineered by the Romans year 271 BC.
Besides it’s natural beauty abundance, Piediluco is a picturesque and charming medieval town that offers great walks (river, lakes and mountains), boat tours. Or if you just want to chill out, there are nice cafes and great restaurants by the lake and the main street, some specialized in fish dishes from the lake. From late June to mid-July, you can experience Piediluco water and light festivals with Italian music, foods and drinks and light events on the lake. Piediluco is very close to many other great places of interest such as the medieval town of Narni and Spoleto only half an hour’s drive from our place, just a little further must-sees are Orvieto, Assisi and Perugia just an hour and 15 min’s drive from our place.
