The area around Sumiyoshi Taisha Station has a nostalgic, old-town charm and a relaxed atmosphere. The highlight is definitely Sumiyoshi Taisha Shrine, a historic site with over 1,800 years of history. You’ll find plenty to see, including the iconic red arched bridge and sacred trees. You can also enjoy fun experiences like making a charm with special stones. After visiting the shrine, we recommend taking a stroll through the nearby Kohama Shopping Street. Try the famous egg croquettes or traditional dorayaki sweets—local favorites! There’s also Sumiyoshi Park nearby for a peaceful walk, and the popular Shiokake Yokocho food stall village, which is great for lunch or a coffee break. The location is perfect for sightseeing, with easy access to Nagai Botanical Garden and Abeno Harukas by bus, and only 9 minutes to Namba Station by train. Sumiyoshi Taisha offers a true taste of Osaka’s friendly and down-to-earth local vibe. If you're heading to the area, why not take a little time to explore? There’s so much to enjoy along the way!
