We are seventh generation of Tomii family, who have lived in Nozawa for more than two hundred years. Kenji Tomii, who was one of the first Japanese ski students of Mr. Hannes Schneider, started a family run inn called “Tomiken” about 70 years ago. Since then, we have kept the business for two generations. In 2023, we launched a newly renovated apartment style hotel called “Norichanchi”. Nori-chan is nickname for Asami Tomii(owner of Tomiken and Norichanchi)’s mother. And Norichanchi is the house where Asami was born and raised. Actually, Norichanchi is just one minute walk from Tomiken where she lives. We look forward to hosting guests in the beautiful Nozawa Mountain and Town.

Nozawa town has great options for dining, shopping, hot spring hopping, and other activities. 10 minutes on foot to Nagasaka Gondola, or 3 minutes to free shuttle bus stop, it has also great access to Nozawa onsen ski resort. The Vegan café and yoga studio Shizen is on site. Nozawa has been popular as a historic spa town and ski resort among Japanese for a long time. Getting popular among internationals as well these days, new business and services have come to the town. Even us as locals, we are excited to see the new things coming up to every winter season.
