Property information

Exclusive One-Group-Per-Day Stay – Entire House Rental Suitō Bettaku is a traditional single-story wooden residence, built in 1922 as the retirement home of Kotarō Suitō, the second-generation head of Kuretake Sake Brewery, and his wife. Inside the house, 23 fusuma (sliding doors) are adorned with 31 paintings depicting tigers, chickens, carp, landscapes, and calligraphy. Wooden verandas (engawa) run along the south and west sides of the house. As the residence contains numerous culturally significant works of calligraphy and painting, we kindly ask that guests under the age of 20, or those accompanied by individuals under 19, refrain from staying. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in helping preserve these valuable cultural assets.

Neighbourhood information

Suitō Bettaku is located along the Sakagura-dōri (Sake Brewery Street) in Hizen-Hama-shuku. We encourage you to take a leisurely stroll through the historic streets of Hama-shuku, and explore the surrounding areas of Nanaura, Tara, Ureshino, and Takeo during your visit. One of Japan’s three major Inari shrines, Yūtoku Inari Shrine, is also located nearby—just a 10-minute drive away. We invite you to stop by for a visit.
