Relax in a traditional Japanese house featuring a wooden terrace with a sea view and a garden. Experience a traditional stay, sleeping on cozy futons in a peaceful and green area. BBQ available. The nearest bus stop (大室高原九丁目) is a 2-minute walk from the house while Izu Kogen station is 40 to 50 minutes away on foot (there is a steep hill on the way to the house) or 10 minutes by car (Taxis available near Izu Kogen station). The house comprises two tatami rooms, one of which is used as a dining room while the other serves as the bedroom. You can fold the futons during the day for better use of the space. The garden and wood terrace give you a glimpse of the sea. The kitchen has an oven, a gas stove, a rice cooker, a teppan plate and hot water dispenser as well as cooking utensils. The bathroom has a shower space and a large stone bath. The sunroom features a sofa with TV. You can connect the apple TV to your apple ID to use streaming services. The toilet has a washlet seat. There are a table and chairs with a barbecue in the garden. A tablet near the entrance door will serve as a house guide with comprehensive videos on how to use the facilities as well as a link to contact the host by phone directly.

I live in Ito with my wife and three chihuahuas. We practise tea ceremony in our spare time and love traditional Japanese cultural activities in general. Make the most of your visit by enjoying the different sightseeing spots nearby (Mt Omuro, Izu Kougen, Lake Ippeki, Jogasaki coast, Granpal…). There are a few restaurants and cafes nearby but we recommend buying your groceries before getting to the house.
