Lake Naivasha Crescent Camp
Founded in 2012, Lake Naivasha Crescent Camp is a beautiful eco-Camp alongside Lake
Naivasha boasting unobstructed views of the lake.
Lake Naivasha Crescent Camp is constructed using canvas; all tents have en-suit bathrooms
with hot and cold running water with flushing toilets. The tents have an ambience and style
decorated to give them traditional tent look with all the comforts of a home.
This gives the guest a chance to forget the hustle and bustle of everyday town life and relax
in the great landscape sceneries surrounded by the beautiful lake, Mt, Longonot and other
ranges at the horizons. There are various activities to keep the guests at bay and these
include: water sports, boating, biking, hiking, birding, nature walk, game viewing and
others.
Lake Naivasha Crescent Camp is located on the shores of a fresh water lake in Kenya about a 90
minutes leisure drive North West of Nairobi, outside the town of Naivasha along Moi South road.
It is part of the Great Rift Valley. The name derives from the local Masai name Nai'posha,
meaning "rough water" because of the sudden storms which can arise. The lake has a surface area
of 139 km² and is surrounded by a swamp which covers an area of 64 square km, but this can
vary largely depending on rainfall.
Lake Naivasha Crescent Camp is situated at an altitude of 1,884 metres (6,180 feet). The lake
has an average depth of 6 meters (20 feet), with the deepest area being at Crescent Island, at a
maximum depth of 30 meters (100 feet). Njorowa Gorge used to form the lake's outlet, but it is
now high above the lake and forms the entrance to Hell’s Gate National Park
