The makuti house is near the tropical jungle of south-west kenya. You feel the warm welcome because you are the only person/ family who is a guest. Its only for you. On the ground there are 2 houses. One is the guest house, the other one is the house for the housekeeper. The house is separated in 3 rooms. The master bedroom with own bathroom, the kids-room with bathroom next door and a big living room with a nice kitchen. You can prepare you food by yourself or you visit the Centre of Kakamega and enjoy the food in a nice Restaurant. The energy of the house comes from solar and the water comes from well.
We build our dream but not only for us. We are married and one of us is a kenyan origin. We visit our house every year with our children and we love the atmosphere. The environmentfriendly house in the tropical nature helps really good to calm down.
The house is in Kakamega-Oremo. It takes 5min to the Kakamega rainforest. There you can start a nice journey through the jungle. A guide will show you all secrets of this area. If you want to go shopping, than you can use a 15min drive by tuctuc to reach Kakamega City. There you find nice malls, supermarkets, traditional markets and restaurants.
