My name is Madani Hananna, I live in the Draa Valley , the last village before the Sahara.
Where I built this perma culture center 12 years Ago.
I am born as nomad. But whe has chosen to settle down because of the drought, I knew a lot about camels but not of agriculture.
I want to promote ideas of perma cultuur and set a good standard for the people of the village and encourage them to do the same, to show them that this is possible in the desert.
now after 12 years. i developt a perma cultuur center .white a lot of opportunités. For Both the touristes as People involved in perma cultuur white the real Life in the desert completely from the vision of the permaculture.
Chez Madani located in M’hamid El Ghizlane in the Draa Valley, the last village before the Sahara. M’hamid El Ghizlane is home to a palm grove that stretches for 16 km along the river Drâa, which is often dry these days. On one of the shores lies M’hamid Bali the ancient village which contains an important kasbah. On the other side, M’hamid Jdid the new village offers most of the entertainment: grocery stores, craft shops, cafes, restaurants, small hotels, tourist agencies …).
Erg Chegaga (or Chigaga) is one of two major Saharan ergs of the Sahara in Morocco, the other being the Erg Chebbi near Merzouga.
This dunes are located in the Drâa-Tafilalet area about 50 km west of the rural town of M'Hamid El Ghizlane, itself located about 98 km south of the town of Zagora. With a length of approximately 40 km to 15 km width, some dunes are around 60m high (significantly less than the dunes at Erg Chebbi with up to 150m), it is the largest and wildest of Morocco.
Because it is relatively difficult to access – it is only accessible by 4x4, camel or on foot – Erg Chigaga remains significantly less visited then Erg Chebbi.
