A variety of local events are held year round on the Square and surrounding streets with something always going on: Carnival, Traditional Religious festivities (Blessing of the Animals on the Feast of St Anthony the Abbot, Good Friday procession, Easter Sunday Resurrection procession, The Feast of the Assumption - referred to as Santa Maria - with fireworks, band marches and procession, Christmas Baby Jesus Procession), Christmas Crib exhibitions and lights, and much more. The Basilica is visible from Mosta Dome B&B.
Mosta is home to one of the most important valleys in Malta - Wied il-Ghasel (the Valley of honey). Here you can go for a lovely walk while observing local flora & fauna, passing below Mosta Bridge. There is also a small church at the far end of the valley which is dedicated to Saint Paul the Hermit. You may also reach Fort Mosta on foot & walk part of the Victoria Lines. Another valley is Wied l-Isperanza (the Valley of Good Hope); very picturesque and easily reachable for some immersion in local flora and fauna.
Mosta is the perfect place to get a taste of everything Maltese and non. Within a span of 500m you may find everything: freshly brewed coffee, traditional snacks and dishes, folklore nights, fine dining, yummy sweets & international cuisine.
