Mauritian national, living in Australia for many years, Alain returned to Mauritius in 2024 and fell in love with it anew. Spellbound by the natural beauty, friendly people, food and culture, Alain decided to purchase a place on the west coast at Albion to encourage him to frequently return home. When he is away, he likes to share this slice of paradise with discerning guests so they too can appreciate what Mauritius has to offer.
Albion is a little village on the west coast of the island of Mauritius. Arguably, it is the best positioned neighbourhood in the country with well-appointed shopping malls, Bagatelle and Tribeca, only a 20-minute drive away. Popular west coast beach spot, Flic en Flac, is also 20 minutes away. The capital, Port Louis, 20 minutes. And the mountainous regions of Moka, you guessed it, 20 minutes away. The famous beaches of the North as well as the magic of Le Morne in the southwest are equidistant from Albion, each about a 50-minute drive away.
Albion is quiet and safe. A little supermarket, a five-minute drive from the villa, is well-stocked with all the necessities, including alcoholic beverages. The public beach is also five minutes away. It is the perfect spot to watch the sun set or have a dip in the emblematic turquoise waters of the island. It is preferable to have a car to get around in Albion and to venture further afield and explore.
