Property information
IMPORTANT: Final cleaning is included in the price. Guests must bring their own bed linens and towels. Pets are not allowed in this cabin.
There is a summer road leading to the cabin. In winter, it is not possible to drive all the way to the cabin. The nearest road where you can drop off your luggage is 100 meters away, but there is no parking available there. Free parking for one car is available near the train station. The last few meters to the cabin are not cleared of snow. Snowshoes and a snow shovel are available in the entrance area. A pulk (sled) can be borrowed.
ABOUT THE CABIN:
A cozy and secluded cabin with a fantastic view over Geilo, located right in the Geilohovda alpine area. In winter, you can ski in/ski out – part of the property is directly on the ski slope. It’s also just a short distance to cross-country skiing trails.
Bloksberg is situated on a large natural plot with great hiking opportunities right outside the door. It’s about a 500-meter walk through the terrain down to the town center.
The cabin includes a spacious living room with armchairs, a TV with NRK channels, and a dining table. There is a well-equipped kitchen and 4 bedrooms with sleeping space for up to 9 people. The cabin has 2 toilet rooms and 1 bathroom with a shower. It has its own well with clean and safe drinking water, but it’s important to use water sparingly, especially during dry periods.
Neighbourhood information
The cabin is a perfect year-round holiday destination, with a wide range of activities nearby—such as skiing and sledding in winter, and hiking and biking in summer and autumn. During summer, you can enjoy mountain biking on the ski trail just outside the cabin.
Geilo is a top ski destination for families, offering 21 lifts, 39 slopes, and 4 terrain parks. The area boasts 500 km of cross-country ski trails in both the high mountains and the valley, as well as a beautiful illuminated trail near Geilohallen.
You can also enjoy a wide variety of activities in both summer and winter, including sledding hills, dog sledding, snowshoe hikes, sleigh rides, and snowmobile safaris. In the summer, you can go horseback riding, rafting, fishing in 34 mountain lakes, golfing, and hiking. There are also several mountain cabins offering refreshments—we highly recommend trying the sour cream porridge at Prestholtseter.
For rainy days, there are two bowling alleys and the Eventyrbadet indoor water park at Vestlia Hotel. You'll also find a variety of restaurants and cafés to suit all tastes.
Geilo is easily accessible by both car and train from both the east and the west.
