In the summer you can hike to the top of Lauvdalsbrea glacier for a spectacular 360-degree view, or swim and fish at Steintjønna, Breisevatn or Versjøen. Take a trip to the beautiful Torpo stave church, which offers plenty of cultural heritage. The area around the cabin also offers great cycling trails. In winter, you can go skiing in the surrounding area, followed by a freshly baked waffle and hot coffee at Gaurhovd. When you return to the cabin, you can let the warmth embrace you in the bathtub and relax. Ski in / ski out: Cross-country ski trails right outside the cabin. Before that, we rented a cabin in the same area for 24 years. For my family, vacations in Oppheimsåsen and the surrounding mountains have given us the best nature experiences in summer and winter. In the summer there are great hiking trails in the area, cycling paths, beautiful mountain lakes and fantastic mountain and summit hikes. Here we enjoy our morning coffee at Steintjønna in the hope of catching a juicy trout and swim in the water at sunset.
