The house has been in my family for over 150 years. I like having guests who enjoy the unique soul of the house.

Property information

"Gammelstua" from 1862 has retained its original atmosphere. The house has 2 bathrooms, one built in 2019, 5 bedrooms, two of which has a double bed, kitchen with dining area for 5 people, an antique wood burning oven and an antique wood stove in the living room. Firewood included.

Neighbourhood information

The house is located in the center of Melandsjøen, which was the municipal center until 1964. It is one of the oldest houses in Hitra. The Nærbutikken Melandsjø supermarket is 30 meters away, just across the road. In a few minutes you can walk to the idyllic and popular destination Hopsjøbrygga (hopsjo.no). Hopsjøen was one of the largest trading places on the Trøndelag coast. At Hopsjøbrygga is the restaurant "Traktørstedet Landstrykeren" with local specialties on the menu. Hitra main church is also a few minutes from Gammelstua. From the house you can hike both along the sea and in-land. Near the house you can visit Margrethe's Minde Memorial and the areas’s highest peak, Hokkeltinden, 180 masl, with fantastic views.
