The property is situated on a wildlife-rich agricultural area near the settlement of Humlevik close to the village of Lundegrend on the island of Tysnes, which is connected to the Hardanger region by a bridge. Våge, a cozy coastal village is the commercial center of the island and is located about 8 km from the cottage. Fish, shellfish and seafood have long played an important role in Tysnes cuisine. Thanks to its central location, Tysnes is a great starting point for round trips in Western Norway; bridge connection to Hardanger, speedboat to Bergen and Rosendal. On Tysnes there is a fantastic viewpoint called 'Tysnes såte', about 750 m. a. s. l., from which you can look across the Hardangerfjord to the municipality of Kvinnherad and see the North Sea and the active shipping on these waters. The municipality of Kvinnherad is a popular hiking area with well-known hiking destinations such as the Bondhusbreen glacier and Folgefonna National Park.
