Villa Lofoten is a beautiful, very peaceful and quiet hideaway, off the beaten path. We have 4 buildings in different sizes for rental.
The location is stunning, between jagged mountains and the sea, with spectacular views from every window. The place is within easy driving distance to Leknes, Reine and Henningsver, which makes it a great home base for exploring the islands from.
The sea is right there at your feet, mountain Hoven in front of you and mountain Middagstinden and it’s trailhead just behind you. The place has very little light pollution at night and is a perfect place to look at the aurora borealis.
The cabins are restored and reconstructed from their history as old fishing hut, saltery and cod-liver oil plant. Every detail has been considered and decorated with high and unique style and with lots of comfort. There are several cosy places in the cabins where to relax and listen to the wind and waves and there are fireplaces in all houses except in our smallest room “The Central” that only hosts 2 people. The kitchens have everything needed for cooking. You can get fresh fish from a local fisherman living next door.
Villa Lofoten also has an old Jugend villa, originally built in 1910, and fully renovated to a high standard. It is exclusive, quiet, and surrounded by spectacular landscape. Villa Lofoten is situated on the north side of Vestvågøy facing the open sea. Rent the villa for a week or more, at any time of the year. It is perfect for your honeymoon or a quiet getaway with family and friends. The Jugend villa is suitable for 6 persons.

Towards the turn of the century, Kvalnes was affected by a decline in population. Houses were sold and new people moved in. Kvalnes is one of the six inhabited places in Vestvågøy with midnight sun. People who like Kvalnes are often people looking for presence, closeness to nature, and self-expression. Here you can be yourself. Let the day go by, just observing sun and light, tide and wind, bird life and seaweed, northern lights and stars, snow and ice. That's why you're as likely to meet an astrophysicist from Belgium as a birdwatcher from Canada, an Indian photographer or an Australian surfer here. This was not always the case. Until the 1980s most people who lived at Kvalnes were what we call fisher-farmers. They survived through a combination of farming and fishing.
