Does magical northern lights and beautiful midnight sun, high mountain peaks, chalk white beaches and crystal clear sea, and a warm bath in the outdoor bathtub with a whisky in your hand while the moose graze nearby seems alluring to you? Then Villa Reipå in Meløy is the right place for you.
The beautiful coast and the picturesque Meløy Alps are just as beautiful and spectacular as Lofoten, but with less queues, stress and tourists - and better accessibility. The majestic mountains invite you to wonderful summit hikes in one of Norway's most beautiful natural areas all year round. In fact, the Meløy Alps offers some of the wildest off-piste skiing in Northern Norway!
Only three minutes from the ocean you will find Villa Reipå, an idyllic farmhouse located on a large, sunny and unashamed property close to the village's beautiful river and lake. The property has a barn as well as an outdoor shower and bathtub in the yard.
Live like a true cowboy - or Lucky Luke! A nice warm bath in the outdoor bathtub or taking a shower while the moose graze nearby is an exotic experience. You might also bring shampoo and a towel, and stroll down to the beautiful river with chalky white sandy bottom that borders the plot to take a bath there. It is highly recommended.
In 2025 you can enjoy a beer in the "world's longest bar at Reipå" in the Lucky Luke barn that will be transformed to a saloon in 2025.
Notice; BYO - Bring your own bottle, the property does not sell food or alcohol. You might want to buy your wine at the monopoly at Ørnes, only 7 minutes drive from Reipå.
If you have children, they can frolic out in the yard and create their own little adventurous world, free from computer games and SOME, or hunt foxes and hares, or carve birdhouses. Villa Reipå is an adventurous place for both young and old.
In the idyllic main house you will find four lovely bedrooms with beds for 6. If you do not bring your own bed linen/towel, you can rent it for NOK 100/50.- per set.
I am a Norwegian author, sommelier and artist that lives in Oslo, but I am completely in love with Reipå and spend as much time as possible in the beautiful village at Helgelandskysten and the idyllic Villa Reipå that belonged to my Grandma before I bought and renovated it. The new bathroom contains a shower, a sink and a portable toilet. In late 2025 I will get a proper toilet in the house, change the roof and convert the barn into a saloon.
I hope that you will love the property as much as I do, and feel how much your body and soul will relax in the beautiful nature up north.
I'm probably close by and available if I'm needed.
The adventurous Helgeland lies like an elongated paradise in the southern part of Nordland. The coastline is one of the world’s most beautiful island kingdoms with a unique coastal culture protected by the UNESCO’s World Heritage List.
You will discover wilderness and glaciers, a fantastic archipelago with deep fjords surrounded by fairytale mountains, some of them almost 2,000 meters high. If this is not enough, on this coastline you will also find some of Norway’s most exciting eateries that offer short-traveled food and local ingredients, all prepared with care and love for the profession.
When the food is served at eateries full of history, charm and soul in beautiful and breathtaking surroundings – it really gives you a good, tasty and unforgettable experience. In other words – the coast of Helgeland offers you a wonderful experience if you are interested in nature, culture, history, and good food experiences.
Reipå, which is the northernmost village in Meløy, lies only 1.5 hours south of the city Bodø and can easily be reached from the north and south via the coastal road E17, as well as boat, bus and Salten seaplane which are recommended if you really want to enjoy a wonderful experience.
Reipå in Meløy is a lot easier to access than the Lofoten islands, which can be viewed from the mainland on clear days. You will find facilities such as a grocery store, hairdresser and a pleasant café with a second-hand shop in the village. A five minutes drive takes you to Ørnes center where you will find facilities such as a liquor store and a second-hand store, as well as groceries. You can also buy shrimp and sometimes whale directly from the boat.
The village consists of beautiful, elongated meadows, world-class chalk-white beaches and high, majestic mountains that invite you to wonderful summit hikes all year, and not least the idyllic Reipå River which meanders through the valley and offers several nice swimming spots and fishing opportunities.
