Vinje Camping is an idyllic and quiet familyrun camping, nicely located in the countryside between waterfalls and mountains. The site was first opened for campers in the seventies, and we built our first cabins in 1992. The campsite is very centrally located, only 1.5 km from the Geiranger Fjord and the center of Geiranger, where you can find grocery store, souvenir shops, cafes and restaurants. Vinje Camping is a great starting point for hiking, as well as other attractions and activities in Geiranger. The reception will assist with maps, both of the area and the hiking. We are happy to answer questions. The campground has a nice bonfirearea for all our guests and a playground for the youngest. In the kiosk we have a small selection of groceries. The cabins are nicely localized in nature, with a gorgeous view of the Geirangerfjord and surrounding mountains. We have seven high standard cabins with one or two bedrooms and a loft. We also have a caravan and four big safaritents for rent during the summerseason. Welcome to Vinje Camping!
Geiranger is the jewel in the crown of the Norwegian fjords. It is a fairytale landscape with its majestic, snow-covered mountain tops, wild and beautiful waterfalls, lush green vegetation and the deep, blue fjord,. Take a fjord sightseeing trip and experience it all. Or take the roads that twist and turn through one hairpin bend after another to Dalsnibba, Flydalsjuvet and Ornesvingen, to experience a fantastic, panoramic view of one of most beautiful tourist destinations in the world. Dalsnibba is one of Geiranger’s main attractions and is a very popular mountain top with visitors to the area. From the Dalsnibba plateau there is a breath-taking view across the most beautiful World Heritage Site, nestled in the surrounding mountain landscape with Geirangerfjorden right in the middle.
