We are Budhi and Sonja, a Nepalese / Dutch couple who met each other for the first time in March 2011, when Sonja was traveling in Nepal. We started to build our own house in Nepal in 2013 and welcomed our first guest in the beginning of 2014. Now 11 years later, we are proud to say that we have 5 comfortable rooms, two cosy dining rooms, a lovely garden and campfire evenings in the winter. We love to share our knowledge and passion about Bardia National Park and West Nepal with you. Therefore we organize many safari activities inside Bardia National Park but also trekkings in surrounding areas like Karnali-Bheri river, Khaptad National Park, Shuklaphanta National Park and Rara National Park. In 2024 we have been rewarded by our visitors for the 7th consecutive year with the Tripadvisor Traveler’s choice award.

We heartily welcome you to our homestay, situated in the countryside and close to the entrance of Bardia National Park in Nepal. A place where you can experience the Nepali way of living with a Dutch touch. We (Budhi and Sonja a Nepalese / Dutch couple) live here with Budhi his parents and children. Our 5 rooms are unique in Nepal. Spacious bedroom and spacious bathroom where the shower and toilet are situated in different cabins. All the beds have box-spring matrasses so your sleep will be excellent. The electricity and hot water is provided by solar power and we are always aware of reducing and re-using plastic to save the environment. Our house is surrounded by rice and wheat fields and local Tharu houses. We are a small property and work with a small team of professional nature guides. Therefore we can give you customized advice how to spend your time in Bardia National Park and how to travel to other places in Nepal.

We live in the village of Shivapur, only 2 km south from the entrance of Bardia National Park. Our home is surrounded by rice and wheatfields and Tharu villages. For more information check also our website!
