Black Barn Vineyards is a boutique vineyard that has been in business for over 20 years. It offers sixteen luxury retreats that are self-contained and exclusively yours for the duration of your stay. Selected for their prime location, unique character and original style, they are all luxuriously appointed to reflect their individual character.

Black Barn Retreat is a two-bedroom en-suited retreat in the heart of the vineyard. Soaring ceilings and a generous open kitchen, dining and living space open out onto a generous terrace for dining and relaxing looking out over the vines. It is a short walk down Black Barn Road to the Cellar Door and BB Bistro. And if you are with us in summer it is an even shorter walk down through the vines to the Black Barn Market on Saturday mornings. That’s where you’ll also find the tennis court available at any time for your use.

Black Barn Retreat is located right in the heart of the Vineyard just behind but out of sight of Rush Cottage. Surrounded by grapes, almond trees, Olive trees and citrus it looks out from its slight rise above the vines to a vista that stretches right across the beautiful province of Hawkes Bay. It looks from the snowcapped mountains in the west to the ocean and river valleys in the east. Black Barn Retreat is just 30 minutes from Napier Airport, 10 minutes from the city of Hastings and just 5 minutes from the quaint and historic village of Havelock North. It is set right in the heart of New Zealand's premier wine region and many of New Zealand's most famous wine names are literally on your doorstep. Beautiful beaches, golf courses, trout fishing rivers and shopping are all just minutes away.
