City Lights Boutique Lodge has been open since December 2008. We designed and built our own Bed and Breakfast with guest comfort in mind, optimising the wonderful views over the city. Our hosting experience helps our guests make the most of their leisure time and sightseeing tips will help you see the best the area has to offer. Please just ask if you would like help with dinner reservations or sightseeing advice.

Why not sit in our garden and enjoy a peaceful, relaxing stay with us. Take in the fantastic views of Rotorua and over to Mt Tarawera or soak in our outdoor spa at night and see the lights of the city down below. We are away from the sulphur smells but only 6k drive into the city, to explore the many restaurants and attractions that Rotorua has to offer. You can also meet and feed our friendly alpacas.

City Lights is set in two acres of grounds on the slopes of Mount Ngongotaha overlooking the beautiful city of Rotorua.
We have spectacular views of the countryside and city but are only eight minutes drive (6km) from the city centre where there are lots of restaurants and bars.
We have close access to the Skyline and many more local attractions and we are only a short drive from the Redwood Forest and mountain bike trails.
We also have six alpacas and Oscar the cat – All guest friendly and love meeting new people!
Please note that City Lights Boutique Lodge does not accept payments with American Express credit cards.
Check-in is available from 16:00 hours. Guests arriving after this time or outside reception opening hours are kindly requested to inform the hotel in advance. Contact details can be found on the booking confirmation.
