Creel House Bed and Breakfast is a private home situated in the village of Lake Tekapo. Creel House was built by Grant as a 3 storey Norwegian Chalet in 1976 and completed in 1994. The guest accommodation is on the 1st and 2nd floors.We ourselves live on the ground floor. There is a separate guest entrance by stairwell, and we recommend light luggage! There are two guest rooms and we can accommodate four persons in total. There is one bedroom on the top floor which has a queen bed and ensuite bathroom. In front is a private lounge which has panaramic views of the lake and mountains. The second bedroom is located on the middle floor with own private bathroom opposite the bedroom door and adjacent to a guest lounge. We are a 5 minute drive to the shops and restaurants or a 12 minute easy walk. We do not offer cooking facilities for guests. Breakfast is continental with home made produce/eggs if desired and is hosted in the middle floor dining/guest area.
Grant's interests are fishing and hunting, and Rosemary enjoys music, sewing, alterations, knitting gardening, and walking, when time prevails. We enjoy meeting people. Our family have left home and are married. We have two cats on site.
Walks are very accessible in Lake Tekapo and close. We are a 10 minute walk to Lake Tekapo, the shops and The Church of the Good Shepherd. We have beautiful views of the night sky. Our street has a mixture of holiday homes and permanent residents and also overseas transitional workers who support local businesses while on their working holiday visas. There are many activities to enjoy in Lake Tekapo, and there are shops that cater for visitors etc. There are a good selection of Restaurants. If you are travelling by bus and would like to be picked up on arrival please let us know. The township of Lake Tekapo is a 75 minute drive to Mt Cook. This is also a wonderful area for day walks and worthy of a visit. Lake Pukaki is a 20 minute drive in the same direction but is also as beautiful and worthy of a walk in the area.
