SHEEP STATION VISIT AND STAY OVER OPTION . Wool is a major byproduct of our farm and we take great delight in being able to demonstrate to you home craft processing of fleece wool from our own sheep into a finished garment.
Our sheep station :
If your stay coincides with an inspection of the more remote (80km away) hill country sheep station you would be welcome to accompany the host.
Station stayover option. :
For groups of 3 or more staying at Estancia for 3 or more nights we can provide on day 2 at no extra charge an inclusive stayover at the stations quarters. You will need to bring your sleeping bags. This is a truly get away from it all hideaway, expansive farmland, bushland, quiet secluded areas of scenic beauty, many farm tracks to walk and much wildlife to photograph. This option needs to be requested in a booking email to us so we can reserve the stations quarters for you.

You will be welcomed to our grand old character home that evokes the gracious lifestyle of a bygone era. Set on 6 hectares, it is headquarters of a much larger sheep and cattle farm, We love meeting people, are international in outlook and want to provide a memorable Wairarapa stay.
Guests are welcome to enjoy our gardens, relax in shade under mature trees, or look for goldfish in the pond and fountain. A BBQ and solar-heated salt treated swimming pool are also available for guests to enjoy during summer,
Furnishings complement the character of the house and include Persian rugs, paintings, a piano, billiards table and freshly cut flowers in many rooms for you to experience a leisurely pace of life during your stay.
Guests have access to our living, dining and billiards rooms, and our book collection. Guest rooms are comfortable bedrooms. The house kitchen, with a guest fridge, is available for making tea and coffee, and for heating precooked meals.
There are three guest-only bathrooms. One is an ensuite bathroom, another opens to the corridor near guest rooms, and the third is downstairs. Guests do not share bathrooms, unless a larger group books more than three guest rooms.

Our home is located between the townships of Masterton and Carterton, and a few minutes drive takes you into Masterton, the largest Wairarapa town, or to the very popular Clareville cafe. Also a few minutes west is Mt Holdsworth, and entry into the Tararua ranges. Here you'll find easy short native bush walks, or longer tramping trips. A few minutes east is the Ruamahanga River and picnic area, and local East Taratahi vineyards. Being so central, our home provides a convenient base to explore the best of the Wairarapa - north to Puhaka national wildlife center, north-east to the beaches at Castlepoint (with lighthouse and Castle Rock walk) and Riversdale, south-east to Gladstone, and to the townships of Greytown and Martinborough.
