We are a Country property but only 15 mins from central town of Hokitika.
Summer time is here. Our busy time of the year so don't forget to book ahead of time as the West Coast gets booked out really quick!
September is our Spring time and we have the native Kowhai's and clematis flowering and the Tuis feeding off them. Truly a sight to see.
Boz, our resident Border Collie loves to meet and greet new people. He is a good substitute if you are missing your dog.
Every morning he may be at your door waiting to play!
Eating out, we recommend either our local pub, Woodstock Hotel or Empire Hotel in Ross for an authentic West Coast experience with great food and hospitality.
Many walks or cycling tracks in a 5 km area and other attractions further afield.
Directions to our home - Follow the SH6 and Treetop Walk signs into Woodstock-Rimu Road. Go past Treetop Walk entrance and 250 m past on opposite side, red/black letter box with B & B arrow up drive to our home.
We have a unique Bed & Breakfast, eco-friendly with solar power for hot water, log burner for water heating in winter.
All buildings are designed and created by Den with gazebos to relax and enjoy.
Cell phone coverage is available for 4G or 5G, no wi-fi available on site or wi-fi available but dining at Woodstock Hotel has free wi-fi there.
Susan & Den love travelling home and abroad and have traveled in Europe, Asia, Turkey, Morrocco, England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Rarotonga, New Caledonia, Australia and others.
We enjoy talking with new people, a cuppa or fine wine or two, the outdoors, our garden (which is still a work in progress), cars and many other things.
We love telling everyone about our area and the many things to see and do around Hokitika and the West Coast.
Entertaining is a big part of your experience with us and we enjoy swapping stories of travels far and wide. We often spend time with our guests if they want to and chat about anything that comes up.
Our Bed & Breakfast is a home away from home for your comfort and enjoyment. Breakfast is enjoyed in our dining room where we cater for your needs with a cup of coffee or tea and a Continental Breakfast set out for your enjoyment. Eggs are cooked to order either poached, scrambled or soft - hard boiled.
We are here to help you with your West Coast experience in our area and are knowledgeable about other areas of the South Island as well. So don't forget to ask us about the areas you are going to see when you leave us.
Just remember that on the West Coast though we are known as the Wet Coast but it is surprisingly warm and dry during the day and most of our rain comes at night.
Spring or winter time is one of the best times to come as we may get a frost but beautiful days and no mozzies or sandflies! A winter wonderland as you could say. Also no snow which makes us one of the best places to relax and enjoy if you aren't into the wet and snow!
We are in the country, approx 12 mins from Hokitika town, in a native forest setting with the Treetop Walk across from us and the West Coast Cycle Trail on the road.
Mahinapua Walk to the Lake 2 mins down the road and several other walks within 5 mins by car.
The Woodstock Hotel is 7 mins away and has a great menu and service. 15 mins to Hokitika Town centre.
We are in the country in an idyllic setting and a micro climate which misses a lot of bad weather around us.
Many other places of interest are well within your reach if you are staying for more than 1 night as you can visit Punankaikai (the Pancake rocks) within 1 1/2 hours or down to Franz Josef in the same time frame.
Many more things to do and see around our immediate area as well
