Murchison View studio is situated within the grounds of High Leys Lodge, the studio offers a self-contained accommodation for independent travelers looking for peace and privacy. It has a small kitchenette with fridge, microwave, rice cooker, toaster and kettle giving you all the means to self cater. Alternatively, Te Anau's restaurants are only a short drive away. The studio also has outdoor seating looking over our small orchard and guests can explore our 1.6 hectare garden at their leisure. Lake Te Anau is also only a short walk away.

Sarah and John warmly welcome you to the Murchison View Studio. With a love of travelling and a desire to work together, Sarah and John decided that it was time to change the pace of their lives, reconnect with the community and spend more time together doing what they enjoy. This has resulted in developing their home at Patience Bay into a range of accommodation options. As well as the studio, we also operate a boutique bed and breakfast where guests can enjoy the extensive views from our home with a great host experience.

Te Anau offers a fantastic base from which to visit the Fiordland National Park including Milford Sound and Doubtful Sound. It is also the starting location for many of the Great Walks including the Milford, Routeburn and Kepler tracks. There are many activities to explore from Te Anau itself, including Faith in Fiordland - a boating trip on Lake Te Anau on a historic sail boat, helicopter rides, seaplane flights, and jet boating. Alternatively you can visit the bird park with its native birds including the Takahe or the local alpaca farm in Manapouri. The local Lake2Lake multi purpose trail links Te Anau and Manapouri and bikes or e-bikes can be hired in Te Anau to enjoy this scenic track along the Waiau river. Guests only have a 5 minute drive into town to get to restaurants, supermarkets, retails shops, cafes and much more. We are also happy to recommend and book excursions on your behalf. Guests should be aware that it takes 2.5 hours to drive to Milford Sound and that parking can be difficult during the summer months.
