Our recently completed two storey house with panoramic sea, mountain and rural views provides spectacular sunrises and sunsets for discerning guests seeking comfort, privacy and peace. All Rooms are double glazed and insulated for climate and sound control. Along with your Bedroom and En-Suite, a ground floor lounge, kitchenette, laundry, and dining room with desk and printer is available to guests. Your hosts occupy the first floor. You may select to have your breakfasts served in the Ground Floor Dinnette or Al Fresco on the patio. The TV in the Lounge is equipped with Chromecast to allow you to stream whatever you may choose to watch from your personal device. A Smart TV is available in all rooms. As the HIDCOTE ROOM shares the bathroom (across the passage) with the ROSETTA ROOM, (private entrance) both will only be occupied simultaneously if the guests are associated and are willing to share this facility - PLEASE CHECK OCCUPANCY AT THE TIME OF BOOKING. The property is a commercial Avocado Orchard so comes with all associated risks, with landscaped gardens. This a strictly NON SMOKING property and intended for use by those appreciating a quiet and comfortable enviroment.
Craig & Tammy moved to New Zealand in 2010 after a lifetime breeding and racing Thoroughbreds from their farm in South Africa. We enjoy travelling both locally and internationally as well as entertaining friends and family. Now that our new home and venture into horticulture is completed, we look forward to welcoming guests to share what we consider to be among the most pleasant places in the world. We always endeavour to provide locally sourced produce and basic personal essentials in emergencies.
Ridgeton is conveniently secluded just 1km off State Highway 2 between the towns of Katikati and TePuna. We are an easy 30km to Mount Maunganui, famous for its beaches, thermal hot pools, mountain hikes, bars & cafes, and the port for cruise liners; 20km to the centre of Tauranga providing the area with business and industrial needs along with bars, cafes and restaurants; 30km to Bayfair Shopping Mall, Baypark and Trustpower Arena hosting sporting, music, motor speedway, conventions, etc. Closer by we enjoy extensive hiking and cycling tracks in the nearby Kaimai Ranges and surrounding areas, bird gardens, thermal pools, waterfalls, water-sports and white-water rafting in the local rivers, winery, cidery, golf course and tennis court. Close by local towns offer many culinary alternatives and a more rural atmosphere, often with open-mic and folk music. Outdoor music concerts are regular events in the local parks and Quarry during Summer. Fascinating items may be sought at the many Antique and Opportunity Shops in the area. The Classic Flyers and Historical Village museums in Tauranga, along with museums in most of the towns in New Zealand, provide interesting cultural history.
