The apartment available is part of a new house located at the 'run-off' for a dairy farm. Guests have independent access into the 42sq m apartment which consists of a living room, bedroom and bathroom. The elevated property has 360 degree views taking in a lake, the mountains and the Rangitaiki Plains towards the Bay of Plenty / Pacific Ocean. On a clear night the star gazing is perfect. Young stock graze the surrounding pastures and in spring calves are reared on the property. Come and enjoy the peace and tranquility of staying on the hill top in the middle of a working farm just outside of Whakatane.
I am a widow, part-time teacher and farmer. Relatively outgoing. I belong to a book group. I play golf and enjoy travelling. I have been to Botswana, Bali, Europe, Morocco, Cambodia, Bhutan, Borneo, Ireland and Iceland in the past five years. Three adult children. One is the farmer at the dairy farm nearby.
A rural setting just 15 kms out of Whakatane on the main highway to Rotorua, (which is 50 minutes away). 2 kms down the road are the Awakeri Hot Springs. Visitors come to the Eastern Bay of Plenty for the high sunshine hours, visiting the off-shore active volcanic White Island, fishing, walks, beach, mountain biking, basically anything 'outdoors,' as the climate is perfect.

If you are travelling from Rotorua to Whakatane - I am 45 mins from the airport on State Highway 30. After 40 minutes you will pass through a small settlement called Te Teko. My driveway is 5 kms further on. 1 Km after McDonald's Road. You will see a stone entrance with the name Otumahi Views on the right. Go up the driveway of 1 km to the top of the hill. If you are travelling from Whakatane, I am 15.5 kms from Whakatane on the way towards Rotorua.
