About this property

Located in the middle of Sharqiya Sands of Oman’s Empty Quarter, Arabian Oryx Camp offers a Bedouin experience in the desert. It features a typical Arabic restaurant that serves a breakfast and dinner buffet. All Bedouin style tents at Arabian Oryx are fitted with tiled floors. Each has split air conditioning, a fridge and a tea/coffee maker. A shower and free toiletries are provided in the private bathroom. Guests can enjoy the various traditional meals which are cooked daily and served by the campfire. Complimentary tea and coffee are served all day at Arab Oryx Camp. Sand skating and dune bashing are offered by Arab Oryx.The hotel also arranges desert safaris with a private camp. Seeb International Airport is less than 200 km away from Arab Oryx Camp. An airport shuttle is available upon request.

More than 15 years ago, Hamdan Al Hajri, owner of the Arabian Oryx Camp, set out to provide an authentic Bedouin experience for visitors to Oman. In his exact words: "I wanted to create a welcoming environment where I could share the beauty of the desert with my guests. And there is no better way to do that than sitting around a camp fire, listening to traditional music, sampling wonderful food and sharing stories among friends."

Neighbourhood information

The camp is rightfully surrounded by sand dunes, so one does not need to go far to experience the beauty of the desert. However way you want to enjoy the desert, we leave the choice up to you. You may go on a guided tour with our experts to get a view of the most spectacular sunrise or sunset. If you wish to go on a long drive from the camp, we can do that too. We even leave the speed of your travel to your liking: a 4-wheel drive or a camel train, you choose. This way, you get to have full control of your authentic Bedouin experience.
