Our apartment is called; "Huis van de Bakkerskinderen (Casa dos filhos do padeiro)."
We, Hammy and Anton, are the owners of this apartment house in the Alentejo region. We named the houses “Huis van de Bakkerskinderen," because it does justice to our working experience as a successful bakery. The apartment is on top of a hill.

Estremoz is located about 40 minutes from Figueira e Barros, on a 425-metre-high hilltop overlooking orchards of gnarled olive trees and cork oaks. It is a charming town nestled against a northern spur of the Serra de Ossa mountain range. Estremoz is known as the marble city, as are nearby Borba and Vila Viçosa. Estremoz is also known for its eccentric ‘bonecos’, elaborately decorated earthenware figurines.
Estremoz is a pleasant town with a Moorish feel due to the many buildings, streets, pavements, and houses made of marble. You can stroll around Estremoz through streets with wrought iron balconies and flower boxes full of begonias and pleasant squares with white houses with red roofs. Estremoz consists of an old upper town and a slightly younger lower town. Both are surrounded by a 17th-century fortification wall with loopholes and bastions.
