INFORMATION – The WINE CELLAR, ideal for PRIVATE DINNERS or EVENTS, is available BY PRIOR RESERVATION and subject to an ADDITIONAL FEE.
AMEIO is not just a house – it's a sensory experience.
This property was born from a desire to preserve the rustic soul of the Portuguese countryside, blending it with thoughtful design, comfort, and authenticity. What makes it truly unique is the harmony between past and present, between nature and carefully curated details.
From the century-old wine cellar transformed into a space for dining and connection, to the garden with olive trees, hammocks, and a fire pit surrounded by cacti and banana trees – everything invites you to slow down and reconnect with what matters most. Natural materials, handcrafted pieces, quiet corners for reading or simply being… every element was chosen to welcome, inspire, and bring a sense of peace.
We greet our guests with care and warmth: a clean and inviting space, soft aromas in the air, tranquil background music, and sometimes even a little local surprise. We’re always nearby if needed, but respectful of your rhythm and privacy.
At AMEIO, we want you to feel at home – or even better, in a place where time slows down, the senses awaken, and nature finds space in your life again.
A warm welcome to AMEIO!
It’s a true privilege to share this special place with those who visit. We created this retreat with great care, honouring the history of the space and allowing nature and the small details to speak for themselves.
What we love most about hosting is seeing how each guest makes AMEIO their own – whether it’s relaxing in the hammock at sunset, exploring the quiet corners of the old wine cellar, or simply letting time slow down.
Personally, we’re passionate about everything that brings us closer to the land and the beauty of simple things: gardening, handmade decor, long conversations around the table, and the joy of a good book with a view of the olive trees.
We hope you feel truly at home here – or better yet, in a place where you can breathe deeply and unwind. If you need anything, we’re always nearby and happy to help.
One of the things our guests love most is the sense of peace that surrounds this place — but also how close it is to authentic experiences and charming local gems.
We’re just a few minutes from the famous Salinas de Rio Maior, a unique spot where salt is still produced traditionally, surrounded by wooden huts and a striking landscape. It’s a must-visit, especially at sunset.
For nature lovers, there are plenty of walking trails, cycling routes, and viewpoints with breathtaking scenery. And if you feel like exploring a bit further, the Natural Park of Serras de Aire e Candeeiros is right nearby.
Food-wise, you’ll find fantastic local restaurants serving the true flavors of the region — from slow-cooked dishes and traditional snacks to convent-made desserts. We’re happy to share our favorite spots!
If you’re into culture, consider a short trip to Óbidos, Alcobaça, or even the coastline, which is only about 40 minutes away.
Here, between the countryside and the sea, there’s always something to discover — at your own pace.
