We travelled to Portugal in the summer of 2014 with the dream of opening a small, family run holiday home with some space to offer camping pitches (As we love camping!). As soon as we visited this house in Penela we fell in love, with the town, with the people and with the country. We knew the property needed some work and some TLC, but with my family background in the building industry and over 40 years learning the trades, I knew I would be up to the task. After many months of hard work and renovations we are delighted with the 3 cottages that we can now offer to visitors to enjoy wonderful holidays here at Casa de Campo de Oliveiras. There is so much to see and do here, it is difficult to know where to start. Check out our LOCALE section to view a small selection of our favourite places. We look forward to welcoming you and we are sure you will have a very enjoyable and memorable time.

Property information

Casa de Campo de Oliveira has three holiday cottages which have been lovingly converted from existing farm buildings using a local architect and builder. They are rustic in style with local wood used in abundance to create a unique rural holiday experience here in unspoiled central Portugal The cottages share communal areas where there is ample room for relaxing in your own quiet corner, having a BBQ and just chill while looking at the far reaching wonderful views across the countryside. Wi-fi access is available in all cottages.

Neighbourhood information

Our self catering holiday cottages are situated near Penela in Central Portugal, close to unspoiled countryside, river beaches that are suitable for swimming and historic world heritage sites. It is only 50 minutes from the lovely long white beaches of the Silver Coast and within half an hour of Portugal’s stunning third largest city - the university city of Coimbra The capital city of Lisbon and the city of Porto are just a train ride away or 1.5 hours by car. Horse riding, hiking, kayaking, river trips and spa days are all available locally and can be arranged. There is plenty to do and see and something for everyone!
