Casa Fidal is a warm, family-run guesthouse in the small village of Bordeira, on Portugal’s wild West Algarve coast. It’s the perfect base if you want to combine comfort with authenticity, just minutes from wild beaches and hiking trails.
You’ll stay in one of 6 ensuite guest rooms, with space for up to 16 guests in total. Each room has its own bathroom, air conditioning, eco-friendly toiletries, soft towels, and double-glazed windows or French balconies. Two rooms are family rooms, so whether you’re travelling as a couple, with kids, or with friends, you’ll find a space that suits you.
A fresh breakfast is served every morning. Soon, we’ll also offer a pop-up Prato do Dia (dish of the day) on selected evenings – a relaxed way to taste something local. Please note: the kitchen is not available for cooking when you book an individual room.
Casa Fidal has no garden or pool, but you’re right on Bordeira’s main square – a quiet, charming spot where you can sit under the trees with a book, and likely find yourself in friendly company before long. Free parking is nearby, and we live upstairs if you need tips, yoga, catering, or an e-fatbike adventure.
We are Alex and Pamela, the couple behind Casa Fidal, where we live together with our teenage daughters, dog and two cats. Casa Fidal is not a hotel; it’s our home, and we love welcoming travellers as if they were friends.
Alex is your go-to for anything active: from surf spots and hidden beaches to e-fatbike tours or the best hikes along the Rota Vicentina. Next to breakfast, he might even cook you up a nourishing prato do dia.
Pamela brings the calm balance with yoga sessions, quiet massages and her loud laugh. She has a knack for helping you slow down and recharge, but often also know where to find the noise and events happening.
We moved to Bordeira to be closer to nature, and we’re still in awe every day of the wild coast, the light, and the space here. It makes us happy to share this with you – whether you’re coming for a family holiday, a surf trip, or a retreat.
During your stay you’ll find us living privately on the top floor, but we’re always around if you need tips, a local story, or just a friendly chat. We’re here if you need us, and invisible if you don’t – so you can enjoy Bordeira and the West Algarve in your own rhythm.
Casa Fidal is located in Bordeira, a small, quiet village on Portugal’s wild West Algarve coast. Life here moves at a slower pace: a café on the square, kids playing, neighbours chatting. You’re surrounded by nature, yet just a short drive from lively surf spots and local restaurants.
Within minutes you’ll reach Praia da Bordeira, a vast sandy beach with dramatic dunes, and Praia do Amado, famous for surfing and beach bars. For something quieter, head to Praia de Vale Figueiras, a hidden gem. Hikers will love the Rota Vicentina trails, which run right through the area with options for all levels.
At the heart of the village is Cantinho da Bordeira, the café where locals, surfers and travellers meet. The baker still stops daily, and when there’s a fresh catch the fishmonger passes too. In the Cantinho, gossip is shared over morning coffee and the evening is welcomed by an international crowd — in Bordeira, everybody is a neighbour.
