Located a few steps from the emblematic República Square in the centre of Viana do Castelo, Pensão O Laranjeira is a family-run establishment that offers well-lit rooms with free WiFi that portrait old traditions of the city. Each air-conditioned room is equipped with a cable TV and a private bathroom. Some rooms include a terrace with views for the mountain where the Santa Luzia Church stands. The whole property has been refurbished and now its 3rd generation of owners decided to tell the story of the family. Hi! My name is Helena, i'm a portuguese girl who decided to embrace a family business in 2010. My project is a traditional restaurant with 7 rooms in the old house of my grand parents. Grandmother still alive and they are my inspiration! My father is the 2nd generation of this business and an expert in welcoming people and serving food in the restaurant. My mother is taking care of details :) and Maria Francisco - the 4th generation - offers smiles to everyone, without exception. We love to welcome people and give them the best in town. Good food, good wine, good atmosphere! Come meet the Laranjeira's family. I love... food and good wine, good conversation, traveling, to dance and to practice yoga :)

Property information

Mr. Francisco Laranjeira and Mrs. Maria(“Vó Micas”) came to Viana in 1946 and presently at the age of 90 still wander through the house where they live welcoming the guests. The 3rdLaranjeira generation decided to refresh the image of the Pensão – the oldest commercial building in Viana – by telling their family story, reminiscing Viana’s traditions and folklore.
