This local accommodation is located in Buarcos, a former fishing village that still preserves the charm of its traditional houses, narrow alleys, cultural heritage, and local customs. In addition to the magnificent beach right in front of the apartment, the area offers a wide variety of entertainment options – all just a one-minute walk away: the garden near the Fisherman’s Roundabout, a children’s playground, a skate park, carousels, and seasonal fairs. You’ll also find numerous restaurants to suit all tastes, especially recommended are the traditional seafood and fish spots along the beach and on the upper side of the sea wall. There’s a great selection of cafés and pastry shops, some of which offer fresh bread daily and high-quality products. Right next to the garden is a traditional fresh food market (Mercado de Buarcos), where you can find fresh fish, fruits, and vegetables from local producers. The area also includes two supermarkets, a health center, a pharmacy, and an ATM located on the ground floor of the building. If you feel like exploring a bit further, take a 15 to 20-minute walk along the beachside avenue to the center of Figueira da Foz, arriving at the iconic Clock Tower, near the Santa Catarina Fortress. Nearby, you’ll find the Tourist Office, the Casino, the Tennis Club, restaurants, ice cream shops, cafés, and a wide variety of stores. From June 1st to the end of September, Figueira hosts a full calendar of cultural and sports events, concerts, street performances, and local festivals. You can check the events calendar online on the municipality’s website or ask for it at the Tourist Office – and don’t forget to visit the Arts and Entertainment Center (CAE). Figueira da Foz is also famous for its Carnival parades, the popular São João marches, and the festive Christmas and New Year’s Eve celebrations – all of which you can enjoy right from the balcony of this apartment!
