Property information

Surveying a broad sweep of pale golden sand from its lofty clifftop perch, Mar Azul is perfectly situated for group getaways. The villa offers easy access to the laid-back fishing village of Salema and the swim-friendly waters of Praia de Salema beach. The 6-bedroom property, outfitted in a crisp modern style, is split across three levels. The bottom floor is occupied by a self-contained apartment, complete with a double bedroom, en-suite shower room, bathroom, dining area, kitchen, living area and a terrace of its own. The two upper levels host the rest of the bedrooms, as well as a living room, another kitchen and a spacious dining area. With the teal blue of the Atlantic beckoning from the villa’s outdoor dining terrace, the poolside patio and almost every window, Mar Azul capitalises on its seaside setting. Stretching along the outer cliff edge of the property, the lengthy pool also makes the most of its coastal location with unobstructed sea views.

Neighbourhood information

Salema is a small town of Budens parish, located in the municipality of Vila do Bispo, in the most western part of the Algarve. Salema is located at the base of a cliff around the beach with the same name and is part of the Natural Park of Southwest Alentejo and Algarve coast. The village of Salema is one of the few communities that has a small indigenous fishing fleet of traditional colorful boats, still launched from the beach (but now with the help of a tractor), which is cast into sea to catch snapper, mackerel, sardines and octopus that you can taste freshly grilled at local restaurants on the same night. The sandy beach and gently sloping, it is ideal for swimming and safe for children. There is a service of lifeguard in the summer months. The sea water quality is excellent.
