This is a home with two levels; the host lives on the ground floor, and the guests have a separate entry at the top floor. The kitchen is shared (there is a table and chairs) but each room has its own bathroom with a walk-in shower.
The washing machine is also shared but we can accommodate additional requests for emergencies.
Downstairs there is a brick oven for bread and a separate grill for guests, a bench to gather, chat, eat, or read a book.
We have a garden where you can contribute if wanting to get your hands dirty. Mom knows a lot about agriculture, and she's elated to teach it to anyone willing to listen.
The Carpathian Mountains can be seen from the property. You may see downtown Sibiu, traditional museums in the open air, many castles, and artisans.
We love pets but need to coordinate with guests any requests at least two days in advance.
We like our guests to respect our home. Smoking is allowed only outside the house. Cleaning fee applies if rules are breached.
Check-in may be done outside the listed hours with at least 48 hrs notice. Communication is appreciated, it goes a long way.
Other services may be available upon request. Let us know what you need!
I've traveled the world on five continents and learned about the expectations of a tourist. A traditional and warm house with locals who can teach you the ropes of the area is more valuable than a modern luxurious hotel. However, privacy is highly valued in our home.
I'm a polyglot who loves to paint/ draw, sew, and create crafts (we organize classes for children and adults), skills that I learned from my mother. My family enjoys my place as much as I do, and I trust that your vacation needs in this area will be easily met.
This is a quiet residential area in a village where neighbors care about each other. You may walk on the nearby hills, walk to the natural salty lakes, take the train or the bus to Sibiu, and even walk in the park downtown which is within a good 15-minute stroll.
Sibiu, a medieval city, has many amenities which I will disclose to you in case you didn't have time to research. If needed, I can be or provide a guide for the area.
Many guests like to visit a few castles or the Clay Castle of the Valley of Fairies located 40 km/ 25 mi away, festivals and museums in Sibiu.
The nearest international airport is SBZ. Some prefer to fly to Bucharest (OTP) first (I can coordinate a private
driver to my location so you can see the countryside). There is a choice to travel by train but I recommend that you purchase tickets in advance of travel.
This village has multiple rite churches.
We organize rides with traditional Romanian carriages pulled by a horse and other activities.
Contact me with any questions before your booking! I'm flexible with your requests as long as we have timely communication.
I'm looking forward to making your trip to Romania a memorable and beautiful vacation.
