The City farm is one of a handful house barns left in Kočevsko. Such a unique combination of a house and a barn was once widespread in the region as people and animals shared the same roof. From April to October, the animals graze on the meadows around the house. The main activities of the farm are beekeeping and growing fruits. Nearby we can find a bee house which is used for tasting bee products, apitherapy and bee watching. Guests have access to the entire upper floor of the house, which consists of an anteroom, two bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen, a pantry, and a bathroom. There is no television, as we would like our guests to spend their time a bit differently. Wi-Fi is available, however. Several vehicles can be parked in the courtyard. There is a garden terrace with a barbecue right at the foot of the hill, which offers pleasant shade in the summer. We recommend our house barn to those who appreciate tranquillity, simplicity and warmth.

The City farm lies in a quiet location at the foot of the Stojna hill range, where the town of Kočevje ends and vast forests begin. It offers a great starting point for visiting the town, the center of which is only a few minutes away on foot, as well as the pristine nature, which you can explore through many well-kept hiking and biking trails. Climb to the ruins of Friedrichstein Castle or the lookout point on Mestni vrh hill along the castle trail, which is 100 meters away. If you are a fan of downhill mountain biking, a shuttle can take you to one of the points of descent on regularly and well-maintained courses. In the hot summer months, you can cool off in the town’s lake or the beautiful Kolpa River, which is a 30-minute drive away.
