周辺エリアの情報
Mojstrana is all about nature. Here's just a few of them:
PERIČNIK WATERFALL (our house is closest building to the waterfall!): There are two waterfalls; the upper one is 16m and the lower one 52m high. From the mountain hut Koča pri Peričniku, which offers refreshments, it takes 10-15min to reach the bottom of the falls, and you can walk behind the waterfall and admire it from an unusual direction! Take care though, as the path is slippery and not protected. In winter, the waterfall turns into innumerable icicles in shades of green and blue – a truly spectacular sight.
KREDA LAKE (just a short walk away!): Kreda (= chalk) is an idyllic lake above Mojstrana. The chalk was used in a cement factory not far from the lake. When the factory was closed, the excavated hollow was left behind, which filled with fresh water from a stream to form this small lake. Years ago the locals used it as a summer pool – today it offers a restful destination for a walk in the quiet green forest.
JULIAN ALPS AND TRIGLAV NATIONAL PARK: The Julian Alps are the highest mountain range in Slovenia. The highest mountain is Triglav (2,864m). It is a symbol of the Slovene identity and is featured in our national coat of arms and on our flag.
RADOVNA VALLEY: Radovna is in the Triglav National Park and the same name, Radovna, is used for the settlement, the river, and the 20km long valley. A well-maintained unsurfaced forest road connects the settlement Zgornja Radovna with Mojstrana and Bled. This road is also a cycle route which has interesting information boards detailing the cultural heritage of the valley. The route is very popular with cyclists as it leads them through beautiful, unspoilt natural surroundings.
