Neighbourhood information

The highest settlement, whose original core lies around a 19.76-hectare lake, the second largest on the Slovak side of the High Tatras. Since its inception, it has been a tourist center, later spa houses and facilities for recreational and elite sports were added. It has excellent transport links. It is the starting point for many attractive tours. In winter it is a popular ski resort. Sensitive social and cultural life pulsates here all year round. Events of European and global significance are held here. From Štrbské Pleso, the steps of tourists most often go to the Mengusovská valley, to the cottage at Popradský pleso and to the nearby Symbolic cemetery.
