Likya Gardens is an exclusive boutique hotel with an enviable location, overlooking the bay of Kalkan. The idyllic waterfront setting lends itself to couples and families seeking a tranquil retreat with widescreen bay views. The hotel features just 12 spacious suites – six of which enjoy a private swimming pool. There are also four villas with hotel services (two 2 bedrooms and two 3 bedrooms) each benefit from the additional luxury of a private cabana at the Beach Club, which hugs the shore below.

Kalkan is an archetypal Mediterranean harbour town with cobbled alleyways rising up from a picture-postcard seafront. The name means shield in Turkish, after the large four-sided bay at its heart, complete with inky-blue waters that are fed by mountain springs which keep the sea fresh for swimming and crystal-clear for snorkelling. Strict conservation laws have ensured only sympathetic, low-rise development has taken place within Kalkan and it retains a low-key charm. Surrounding villas and boutique hotels are sensitively built into the natural terrain – sometimes in quite a feat of nature – and blend with the overarching backdrop of pine forest meets the turquoise sea.
