Maasai Eco Boma consists of a collection of simple, cozy and traditionally crafted Maasai huts. Your stay will provide you with the opportunity to learn about and immerse yourself in Maasai culture. The Bomas are conveniently located in a wildlife corridor between Tarangire and Lake Manyara National Parks, and are 2.5-3 hour drive to Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro. The accommodation fee includes all meals and activities. The proceeds from your stay help support our community: 30% goes to the education program, 29% goes to the village, 23% goes toward activities and meals, and 18% is a government tax.
The huts are private and each one is decorated according to the Maasai clan that they are named after. For the comfort of our guests, each hut offers electrical sockets, lights, comfortable beds with clean linens and mosquito nets, and en suite washroom & shower facilities with running water. Hot water can be made available on request. Strong wifi is available in the shared dining area where all meals are eaten. Meals consist of local dishes, including breads, meat, fruits and vegetables. There is also a firepit area where you can enjoy views of the stars after dinner.
Multiple activities are available as well! Depending on the timing and duration of your stay, you can expect to participate in any of the following activities: Maasai village tour; visits to a Maasai traditional healer, midwife, and blacksmith; Maasai singing and dancing; milking cattle; beading with Maasai women; visiting huts of Maasai families; walking with Maasai warriors; fetching water and collecting firewood; and traditional storytelling around the campfire. Of course, the activities are all optional.
