Built in 1936, the home is naturally charming and presents an inviting, cozy atmosphere. Many original works of art, from hand-made Persian rugs to National Art Quilt magazine's cover quilt to host-designed furniture (many from wood harvested on the property) to works by Robert Ross, Tish Epperson, Heliberto Brachiamonte, and David Chethlane. Numerous bookcases filled with tomes and displays of the Host's interest in geology and the natural world. Everywhere you look out of the windows you encounter a green vista, as plantings have been deliberately placed to invite nature up close (can we say "deer herd"?!) and provide natural screening. Enjoy the fire pit next to the deer path in the 70' tall Swedish Firs, relax in the cedar gazebo next to the lily pond, rest in the 2-person hammock, or soak away cares in the saltwater hydromassage hot tub. While here, this is home, so feel free to bring in food and cook in an ACF professional Chef's well-equipped kitchen.

If you recognize the Tongan or Liechtenstein flag flying outside, then Kudos! As an Eagle Scout and Vigil Honor, I've made many connections worldwide that have been enhanced through the efforts I made to better develop the staff food service at the World Jamboree and World Moot (not to mention the US National Jamboree). I've been dubbed a Renaissance Man for the variety of interests and skills I've been blessed with. Outdoor activities such as backpacking, hiking, camping, kayaking, canoeing, cycling, and white water rafting are in my quiver.Though a retired educator, I'm continuing to work at developing an education non-profit to promote practical Differentiated Mastery. In a past life, I was a professional Chef and am finally working on a cookbook after much outside prodding!
The immediate area is most quiet. Lancaster seems to be an epicenter of numerous parks and nature preserves, all within an easy drive, including one of the most-visited state parks in the U.S., the Hocking Hills. Just a short drive to Columbus if there are interests that the 14th largest city in the U.S. can provide.
