This is a very diverse area originally a farming community,over the years it became residential neighborhood first settled by a German community now it is home to many people from different cultures,you can enjoy fresh juices at the local juice bars on Bronxwood Avenue, freshly smoked grilled fish,chicken or pork from the many Jamaican restaurants in the area to household staples like hand made pastries .If you never tried deep fried Salman Laconia Avenue's fish market bost some of the best steamed fish in the entire bronx.
