I'm a recently retired resident of Swampscott, MA and am originally from Ukraine. I have two sons - one who lives in California and the other nearby in Marblehead. I recently became a proud grandfather! I love to go to the beach, to travel, and to ski. When I was younger, I trained as a physicist, but re-trained as a biostatistician mid-career.

The apartment is located within a five-ten minute walk from the visitor-favorite Salem Waterfront and Historical District. The neighborhood is safe. However, the immediately surrounding area is up-and-coming: It is a high-energy, mostly working class neighborhood. You'll get an authentic flavor of the area and be in proximity of lots of restaurants and beaches. We assume that some families may shy away from a local feeling, whereas others are even more excited by the experience. On summer weekends and during the Halloween peak season, the immediately surrounding area is lively and festive, but can get loud at times. If you are a delicate sleeper that does not like a lot of sound and noise this location may not be good for you. Parking in Salem can be tough to find -- especially in the evenings, weekends and during the Halloween peak season. Parking at the apartment is not guaranteed. Again, the neighborhood will be fun for most visitors, but others may find such an area objectionable. Please make sure that you are comfortable in such a setting.
