We love the location of our cabin since it offers easy access to the town of Maggie Valley. Our cabin at Bear Haven is located in the quaint community of Valley Creek Run which has a beautiful setting located off Soco road. To get to Bear Haven you must cross over Jonathans creek and go a short distance up a hill, then turn left to a cul-de-sac location offering quiet and forest lined streets. Location is important, isn't it? Well, our guests have the ability to go for a short walk to eat at BearWaters Brewing Company or Joey's Pancake House, or to Jonathans Creek to do some fishing! Also, we love hearing the church bells of Saint Margaret of Scotland every evening from our deck. There are so many delicious places to eat, and the town of Maggie Valley plans many different activities at their Festival Grounds year round. Plus, 15 minutes to the ski resort and take a 4 minute walk to Tube world across Soco Road for some winter fun! Our cabin has all the comforts of home so cozy! Don't forget the easy access to the Blue Ridge parkway!
We are a couple who were looking for a place to stay to get back to nature. We chose Maggie Valley for the opportunities to enjoy the mountains, rivers, lakes, creeks, waterfalls, hiking, fishing, swimming, skiing, tubing, golfing, all with great weather year round. I have been a real estate agent for 30+ years in CA, and my husband Robert is a retired Builder & Lender from New Jersey. We are both from very large families and have always wanted a cozy cabin to spend quality time together. We share a passion for beautiful homes, so we were overjoyed to work together on updating and decorating this three-story log cabin in Maggie Valley. We want to make it a place for our guests to visit with all of the comforts of home included.
The unique location puts our cabin within 15 minutes to Cataloochee Ski Area, a few minutes drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway. If you wish to go nearby for entertainment, drive about 20 minutes to Waynesville to walk their old town main street and get something good to eat. Then go over the mountain to Cherokee Casino, Soco Falls is a must see along the way! Why not stop at Santa's Village during the winter or Tony's Tube World for some fun with the kids. Check the Maggie Valley Festival Grounds website for special events in the area.
