Located in South Austin, Big Red Cactus is an entire 1-bedroom apartment - accessory dwelling unit with private entrance and private screened porch with a hammock and a small outdoor yard featuring an optional inflatable hot tub. The apartment has a fully stocked kitchen and great room with smart TV and dining area. Through the antique blue door, you will find a spa-like setting, rain head shower made of glass block are just off the main bedroom with reading area and game table/home office and free wi-fi. There is one queen size bed that sleeps two people. Occupancy is for two people in the same bed. Guests have about 800 sq. ft. of living space to themselves.

Sherry is a retired educator, public school administrator and college professor with experience running and managing BnB’s and is a native south Austinite. Matt is a local Austin musician and a swimming teacher. We live onsite and you may see us tending to the chickens, gardens, yard, etc. We love hosting people in our beautiful city and quirky south Austin neighborhood. As UT graduates, we try to do our part to keep Austin weird. We know you will find our cozy apartment a great place to stay and convenient to whatever brings you here. This is the "old" Austin you will hear people lamenting about it being gone, but it's not, it's right here.

Our home is located in south Austin and convenient to SXSW, ACL Festival, COTA, the airport. The apartment is walkable to Quack’s Bakery, Austin Java, Jo's Coffee, Cherry Creek Catfish, Aranda's Mexican Restaurant, and drivable to Radio Coffee and Beer and the Texas Wine and Hill Country.
